2008 Electricity Distribution Maintenance Summit Resolutions
The 2008 Electricity Distribution Maintenance Summit, was held at Gallagher Estate, Midrand, South Africa, on 9 and 10 October 2008.
The outcomes of the Summit are a set of Summit Resolutions that were unanimously adopted by the Summit Partners and delegates. A Summit Declaration will follow in the next few days.
EE Publishers reader survey 2007

Executive summary of independent technical audit on eleven electricity distributors in South Africa (105 kB PDF file)
Coinciding with the massive three-day power black-out in Bedfordview caused by failures on Eskom's high-voltage feeder cables, the National Energy Regulator of South Africa (NERSA) has released the findings of an audit it commissioned by independent consultants, Merz & McLellan South Aftica and their international associates, Sinclair Knight Merz (SKM) of Australia, into the state of eleven large electricity distributors in South Africa.

Review of security of supply in South Africa - a report to the Department of Public Enterprises (380 kB PDF file)
This report was formerly confidential to the Department of Public Enterprises (DPE), but has recently been released into the public domain by the DPE. The study, by Duncan Wilson and Ivan Adams, was undertaken at the request of the director general of the DPE, and is a component of the program of Support to the Restructuring of Public Enterprises in South Africa (SRPESA), funded by the UK government's Department for International Development (DFID) and inplemented by Adam Smith International (ASI).

Draft Electrical Installation Regulations dated 15 August 2005
The Minister of Labour intends to repeal the Electrical Installation Regulations, 1992, of the Occupational Health and Safety Act, 1993, and supersede them by revised draft regulations dated 15 August 2005. Interested persons are invited to submit any substantiated comments or presentations on the proposed regulations to the Director General of Labour, Private Bag X117, Pretoria, 0001 (for the attention of the chief inspector: Occupational Health and Safety), within 90 days from 15 August 2005 i.e. by 15 November 2005.
