IMSSA Workshop 2009
10 – 11 September 2009
The Insitute of Mine Surveyors will be hosting a workshop in conjunction with their AGM at the Maropeng Conference Centre, near Johannesburg. The theme of the workshop will be “Safety in mine survey” encompassing innovation and best practices in mine surveying.

13 – 18 September 2009
This five day GIS workshop hosted by the Computer Foundation combines in-depth training exercises, hands-on experience and networking opportunities for ArcGIS users. It will be held at the Warmbaths Conference Centre.

Map Africa 2009
16 – 18 September 2009
The conference will be held at the Birchwood Hotel and OR Tambo Conference Centre, Johannesburg. The plenary sessions will cover geospatial applications and technology areas with focues on local governance, utility and infrastructure and agriculture and environmental management.

2009 International Hydrographic Conference
10 – 12 November 2009
The Hydrographic Society of South Africa on behalf of the International Federation of Hydrographic Societies is hosting HYDRO9 in Cape Town. The event will feature top-rated paper presentations on all things hydrographic along with a number of entertaining events, including a banquet evening on a wine farm and a closing ceremony on Robben Island.
