Trimble recently introduced a geographic information system (GIS)-based office and handheld asset maintenance inspection solution for utilities consisting of two new products: the Trimble UtilityCentre Field Inspector software for handhelds and the Trimble UtilityCentre Maintenance-2 module. In combination with the brand’s Mapping and GIS rugged handheld computers with integrated Global Positioning System (GPS) technology, the software offers electric, gas, water, and wastewater utilities of all sizes a scalable and easy-to-deploy field solution for improving asset maintenance inspection operations. The UtilityCentre Maintenance-2 Module extends the functionality of the software to include computerised maintenance management of utility assets. The UtilityCentre Field Inspector Software is a robust handheld field maintenance and inspection solution for optimising utility field operations.
